Abbeyton Lofts -
The Racing Pigeons for the 2011 Season |

The first of the 2011 young
pigeons will be hatching out on the 16th
March and by the second week in April,
once fully feathered and eating for
themselves will be shifted into the
young bird section of the loft. |

Our intention this season is to breed and race
around 50 young bird pigeons. We will be
racing them in Kilwinning Homing Society
pigeon club, Ayrshire Federation. |

The old bird racing program starts on the 16th April with
the first race being flown from Carnwath, which is 43 miles to our loft.

Ayrshire Racing Program for 2011. You can also keep
up to date with the results on the website or from the
Homing Pigeons Forum. Our team of racers, will be
trained to race to the loft starting off from a distance
of 10 miles gradually moving out to 30 miles and the
training will start around
the first weekend of April. |

Abbeyton Lofts Best Young Bird in 2008 |

This picture shows the best Abbeyton performance young bird
pigeon in the season 2008, it is a chequer pied cock SU08A
2842. This pigeon was first to the loft and in
the top 3 positions in the Kilwinning club in 4 races from
60 miles up to its last race of 133 miles.

been breed down from strains of Geoff
Kirkland National winners from
Chatsworth Lofts in Essex. |
