Being a third generation fancier my ears since boyhood heard much of the happenings of how AYRSHIRE FEDERATION of HOMING PIGEON SOCIETIES was ran as my Grandfather, Father and myself have all held official posts within our organisation since 1925.  History always held my interest at school so I suppose it was no accident that I took the same interest in our heritage when I set  up loft  on my own  in 1959 reading  all I could about the sport in general and in particular my beloved Ayrshire.

Over the years I have collated an archive of books some of which are 100 years old.  With this small library at my elbow I count it a privilege to have had the opportunity to put on record many of the highlights within our sport and fanciers which made them happen.  There are many likeable characters and stories down the years as you will find out. I trust my humble efforts depict how our sport has moved on since our embryo years which came to fruition and realisation of our forerunners to whom we owe so much.
